He represented developers of the project at a recent city Planning Board meeting. The site is now made up of what Saari described as "a very eclectic mix of motel units." "There are your standard motel efficiency units, there are a number of standalone cottages, there are a few suites scattered throughout all the buildings," he told the board. 50 townhouses: Portsmouth development aims to meet demand for housing The largest existing building, which was built in 1999, houses an indoor pool, which Saari said will be lost during the redevelopment. Carolina Cat Celebrates 95 Years as Family Business : CEG - Construction Equipment Guide

Image
CTE President and CEO Ed Weisiger Jr. and daughter, Amanda Weisiger Cornelson. From its headquarters in Charlotte, Carolina Cat (CTE), formerly known as Carolina Tractor & Equipment, is one of those rare jewels of American business: a family company founded during the "Roaring Twenties" that has achieved immense success without being acquired by a larger conglomerate. Founded in December 1926 by Les Weisiger with a commitment to help grow the Carolinas by supporting the region's construction, roadbuilding, utility and mining industries, he could not have realized at the time that in 2022 his family not only still runs it, but has grown the business to such lofty heights. When pierced with a knife, the gilded slab reveals itself to be actual meat, mottled pink and swaddled in fat. Steam rises, as from a fresh kill. Such a steak — a signature of the Turkish chef Nusret Gokce, better known as Salt Bae — appears in a video that went viral last November, in which Gokce himself delivers the golden calf to the table of General To Lam, the Vietnamese minister of public security, at Nusr-Et steakhouse in London. The chef slices and slaps the cuts of meat so they tumble like dominoes, then stabs one with the tip of his knife and reaches it across the table toward his high-ranking guest. The general opens his mouth and accepts the bite as if it were his due. The video was posted to Gokce's TikTok account and then quickly deleted, b...
