CHILLICOTHE— Adena Health System is now offering COVID-19 vaccines for children 5-11 years old, said Communications Manager Jason Gilham.  Same-day appointments are available at Adena Pediatrics located in the medical office building, located at 4439 OH-159, Chillicothe, on the Adena Regional Medical Center campus.  Hours are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.  Parents and guardians can call 740-779-4300 to schedule an appointment or even simply ask for their child to receive the vaccine during an upcoming scheduled appointment. Police have released the identity of the woman killed in a shooting last week in Palm Springs. The shooting happened Monday, Oct. 25 at approximately 12:01 a.m. Police said a security guard found Dayana Hernandez, 38, of Desert Hot Springs with an apparent gunshot wound while seated inside white Fiat. The vehicle was parked on S. Cherokee Way, north of E. Palm Canyon Drive between the Parker Palm Springs and Oasis Resort. Hernandez's death was officially ruled a homicide the following day. Details remain limited as to the circumstances of the shooting. A description of a possible suspect(s) has not been released at this time.
